American mezzo-soprano Mary Ann McCormick has distinguished herself for her artistic diversity upon the operatic,
concert and recital stages. Her most recent accomplishments include performances as
"Carmen" with Teatro dell'Opera di Roma,
a role she has also performed with Teatro Regio di Torino
and the Staatsoper Stuttgart.
Last season she performed in Die Walküre with Teatro la Fenice
conducted by Jeffrey Tate, and with Teatro dell'Opera di Roma as "Priyamvada" in Alfano's Sakuntala.
In 2005 she made her debut at Teatro Regio di Torino in Il Trovatore as
"Azucena",
with Opera National de Paris in Elektra conducted by Christoph von Dohnanyi,
and sang performances of Alceste in Parma conducted by Bruno Bartoletti.
With the Teatro Communale di Bologna she made her debut as "Maddalena"conducted by Daniele Gatti.
In July of 2004 this production also toured to Seoul, Korea to great acclaim.
In previous seasons Ms. McCormick had the release of her recording in the role of
"Tigrane"
in Puccini's Edgar with the Orchestre National de France in Paris
and made her debut at Teatro alla Scala in Milan as "Isabella" in L'Italiana in Algeri.
Hailed by the press as “mesmerizing,” elegant” and “charismatic,”
her future engagements include performances as "Carmen" in St. Gallen, Switzerland, as well as Mahler;
