The Taghkanic Chorale welcomes new singers.

The Taghkanic Chorale welcomes new and returning singers to Spring rehearsals, starting Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at 7:30 pm. New singers are invited to sing with the Chorale, without obligation to join, during the month of January.

The 2008 Spring “Edwardian Celebration” concert will feature the works of Vaughan Williams, Elgar and Parry under the musical direction of conductor Steven Fox. The concert will be performed on May 17 at the Valhalla United Methodist Church and May 18 at Trinity Episcopal Church, Ossining.

Rehearsals are held Tuesday evenings from 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm at the Yorktown Church of the Nazarene, White Hill Road, Yorktown Heights, NY, conveniently located near the Route 202 Exit off the Taconic Parkway.

The chorale’s music director provides informal one-on-one coaching sessions for new and returning members to assist with part placement, section balance and voice blending beginning after the second rehearsal on January 15. Dues, which help defray concert and operating costs, are $65.00 for singers joining for the Spring concert season. Members purchase their own music.

The Taghkanic Chorale, a leading cultural organization in New York's Hudson Valley, is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization. It serves enthusiastic singers and concert goers from Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Rockland and Orange counties, and the mid-Hudson Valley, who appreciate the friendliness of the group, the high caliber of its musical direction and the professionalism of the Chorale's performances.
