The Taghkanic Chorale welcomes new singers.

The Taghkanic Chorale welcomes new and returning singers to Fall rehearsals, starting Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at 7:30 pm. New singers are invited to try out the Chorale with no obligations during the month of September.

The 2008-2009 repertoire will include a Holiday program of French masters Charpentier, Debussy and Fauré (the enchanting Cantique de Jean Racine), and a Brahms concert in April, featuring the beloved German Requiem. The Chorale sings under the musical direction of acclaimed conductor Steven Fox.

Regular rehearsals are held Tuesday evenings from 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm at the Yorktown Church of the Nazarene, White Hill Road, Yorktown Heights, NY, conveniently located near the Route 202 Exit off the Taconic Parkway.

There is an informal audition beginning after the second rehearsal on September 18. Annual dues, which help defray concert and operating costs, are $125.

The Taghkanic Chorale, an established cultural organization in the Hudson Valley for over 40 years, is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization. It serves enthusiastic singers and concertgoers from Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Rockland, Orange and the mid-Hudson Valley who appreciate the friendliness of the group, the high caliber of its musical direction and the professionalism of the Chorale’s performances
